FX Muro Antico
(Interior only)
FX Muro Antico is a unique, acrylic-based wash coating that uses modern technology to replicate the original ‘Stucco
Veneziano’ without the traditional trowel application. Create any number of special effects using a brush, ragging
technique, chamois or stamped roller. With this versatile coating, surfaces can be transformed to imitate anything from
delicate rice paper to classic stucco and even leather. Finish has a soft sheen that can be further enhanced with
FX Wicked Wax® or FX Liquid Wax.

Easy clean-up
FX Muro Antico produces a variety of special finishes on prepared interior surfaces such as plaster, plasterboard,
rendered walls and unglazed brick.
Surface Preparation
All surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned and free of dirt, dust, grease, loose or flaking paint, and loose surface plaster.
Efflorescence or mould on masonry or concrete surfaces must be treated. Flatten gloss surfaces by thoroughly sanding
and wipe clean with a damp cloth. Then apply FX Lemon Tree Creek® Sealer Undercoat as required.
Note: To achieve an optimum finish, ensure surface is as smooth as possible.
Stir contents thoroughly before and during use with a broad, flat stirrer, using an upward action.
Brush/Roller/Chamois/Rags: Use a 75 mm or 100 mm brush in a criss-cross fashion, or a short or long nap roller, stamped
rollers, chamois or rags, depending on the final effect desired. Second and any subsequent coats should be applied
using the same method as for the first coat, e.g. for a delicate, rice-paper look, use a chamois, but use a roller for a
leather look. When the product is completely dry, polish with a very fine sanding block or stainless steel trowel.
Clear Coating: FX Wicked Wax® or FX Liquid Wax can be applied to seal finish and give extra sheen interior only.
Approximate Spreading Rate: 12–16 square metres per litre, depending on application technique
and surface roughness.
Approximate Film Thickness per coat: Wet: 40 Microns; Dry: 15 Microns.
Requires: 2–3 coats.
Thinner: Not required.
Tinting: Refer to colour chart for tinting specifications.
Method: Brush, roller, chamois or rags.
Drying Times (at 25 °C): Touch: 2 Hours; Recoat: 6 Hours.
Note: Do not apply paint if the air temperature or substrate temperature is below 10 °C or above 35 °C.
The temperature should not fall below 10 °C during the drying process.
Clean-up: Water. Safety: Dust Mask. Gloss Level: Less than 5% (unpolished) & 20%–30% (polished) at a 60° viewing angle.
Safety and Environmental Care
Personal Protection: Wear eye protection and dust mask when spraying, as splashes may cause eye irritation and inhalation of spray
mist may cause respiratory irritation.
Asbestos cement sheeting: Do not disturb, sand or scrub, and avoid any peripheral dust. If you do not have professional expertise in
handling/removal of asbestos sheeting, use a licensed asbestos removalist.
