FX Pearl is perfect for producing a variety of special effects on interior surfaces, such as plaster, plasterboard, iron,
cement and timber.
Surface Preparation
All surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned and free of dirt, dust, grease, loose or flaking paint, and loose surface plaster.
Efflorescence or mould on masonry or concrete surfaces must be treated. Flatten gloss surfaces by thoroughly sanding
and wipe clean with a damp cloth. Apply FX Lemon Tree Creek® Sealer Undercoat as required, then apply 2 coats of
FX Lemon Tree Creek® Semi-Gloss.
Stir contents thoroughly before and during use with a broad, flat stirrer, using an upward action. Best results for FX Pearl
are achieved when it is applied over dark colours. For a softer finish apply over a lighter colour.
Brush/Roller: Apply FX Pearl with a 75 mm–100 mm brush, or use a soft, medium or long nap roller. Then, while product is
still wet, use a spatula, sponge, plastic bag, or chamois to create the desired effect. One coat is sufficient but
depending on finish required, additional coats of either the same or different colours can create interesting finishes.
Ensure FX Pearl coat is completely dry before any further applications.
Airless/Conventional Spray: Suitable for application using all standard spray equipment.
Approximate Spreading Rate: 6–10 square metres per litre, depending on application technique and surface roughness.
Approximate Film Thickness per coat: Wet: 150 Microns; Dry: 25 Microns.
Requires: 1 coat for a simple pearl effect, additional coats for more complex finishes.
Thinner: Not required.
Tinting: Not required.
Method: Brush, roller, special rollers, sponge, spatula or airless/conventional spray equipment.
Drying Times (at 25 °C): Touch: 4 Hours; Recoat: 12 Hours.
Note: Do not apply paint if the air temperature or substrate temperature is below 10 °C or above 35 °C.
The temperature should not fall below 10 °C during the drying process.
Clean-up: Water. Safety: Dust Mask. Gloss Level: 20%–30% at a 60° viewing angle.
Safety and Environmental Care
Personal Protection: Wear eye protection and dust mask when spraying, as splashes may cause eye irritation and inhalation of spray
mist may cause respiratory irritation.
Asbestos cement sheeting: Do not disturb, sand or scrub, and avoid any peripheral dust. If you do not have professional expertise in
handling/removal of asbestos sheeting, use a licensed asbestos removalist.
