FX Metallic is used for producing many different special effects. Suitable for all prepared interior surfaces such as plaster,
plasterboard, iron, cement, timber, trims, doors and furniture.
Surface Preparation
All surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned and free of dirt, dust, grease, loose or flaking paint, and loose surface plaster.
Efflorescence or mould on masonry or concrete surfaces must be treated. Flatten gloss surfaces by thoroughly sanding
and wipe clean with a damp cloth. Apply FX Lemon Tree Creek® Sealer Undercoat as required. To create a smooth
base, and to facilitate creative texturing, apply a base coat of FX Lemon Tree Creek® Semi-Gloss, tinted to match
selected FX Metallic colour as closely as possible. Allow base coat to dry completely before using FX Metallic.
Note: Best results are achieved on smooth, well-prepared surfaces.
Stir contents thoroughly before and during use with a broad, flat stirrer, using an upward action.
Brush/Roller/Sponge: Apply the first coat by roller. Ensure the roller is very soft and between 12 mm–18 mm nap. The
second coat may be applied with a roller or a 100 mm brush, using a criss-cross motion, or use a sponge or spray
equipment to achieve a different creative finish.
Note: It is important to keep a wet edge at all times.
Note: To slow down the drying time, add 10% of FX Scumble.
Conventional Spray: Suitable for application using all standard spray equipment.
Approximate Spreading Rate:12–14 square metres per litre, depending on application technique
and surface roughness.
Approximate Film Thickness per coat: Wet: 70 Microns; Dry: 25 Microns.
Requires: 2–3 coats.
Thinner: Not required.
Tinting: Refer to colour chart for tinting specifications.
Method: Brush, roller, special rollers, sponge, spatula or conventional spray equipment.
Drying Times (at 25 °C): Touch: 2 Hours; Recoat: 6 Hours.
Note: Do not apply paint if the air temperature or substrate temperature is below 10 °C or above 35 °C.
The temperature should not fall below 10 °C during the drying process.
Clean-up: Water. Safety: Dust Mask. Gloss Level: 20%–30% at a 60° viewing angle.
